It is a short, curious, and seldom read letter that was written by Jesus’ brother, Jude to encourage Christians to “contend for the faith.” It is filled with references to Old Testament events and also to some extra-Biblical material.

Journey Through The Word Daytime will begin on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 9:15 a.m. Our study this year will be: “the book of The “Revelation”… of Jesus Christ. The book of Revelation promises a blessing to all who read and keep the word of prophecy contained in this book. Prophecy deals with crucial issues such as Heaven and Hell…History…and how it will end…The future of the church…of unbelievers…of Israel. On a personal level…What is God doing or going to do in the world that affects me? Don’t miss this look into the future. A Children’s Ministry for pre-school and kindergarten children with crafts, songs and Bible stories, as well as a nursery for younger children, is available. You don’t want to miss this! PINK registration forms are located in the baskets on the upper and lower levels of the church entrances.
Evening Journey Through the Word starts on Wednesday, September 15, 2010. We will be studying the book of Revelation. This will be a 17-week study (6:45 p.m.-8:00 p.m.) that includes personal study at home, a lecture by one of the Pastors and a small group discussion. Registration is online at www.ruthfred.org or you can complete a GREEN paper registration form located in the baskets on the upper and lower levels of the church entrances. Childcare is provided for birth to Kindergarten. Contact Jill Huwe with any questions.
Attention: Anyone having difficulty hearing the sermon is reminded that audio amplification devices are available. Feel free to ask the deacon for one.

Thank You: John and Elizabeth Stilley and family would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to Pastor Molstre and Pastor Carlson for the beautiful funeral service for Lillian Hylton (Elizabeth’s mother). Thank you to the Pastors and Sylvia for the many visits to the nursing home and to the hospital during Lillian’s illness. Your words of encouragement and prayers brought a sweet comfort for life eternal. Thank you also to the women of the congregation who provided the delicious lunch. It allowed the family a much needed time to relax and visit with loved ones. It is a true blessing to be part of such a wonderful family of believers!
Souper September: Last year many of our members wanted to do something in remembrance of Pastor Dennis hence began the Can Soup Drive for Washington City Mission in memory of Pastor Dennis. So on the second anniversary of his death (September 19, 2009), our church will again be having the Can Soup Drive. Please bring in your canned soups beginning on Tuesday, September 7th through the end of September (placing the canned soups outside the kitchen). After the drive, the cans of soup will be delivered to Washington City Mission in memory of our beloved Pastor Dennis. In this small way, young and old can remember Pastor Dennis, and also help many who are in great need.
